Dreamless Ones

Words have little power in the scheme of the feelings within the thoughts. So tired are the endless pieces of the puzzled heart. The projection of disillusion, echoes of the disparaged and the discontent of the dreamless. White light surround me and protect me from their way.

Watching Myself

We sat together on a beach. It was my mother and I looking across the pale sand of a slopping coastline. Our eyes met and turned to a toddler adorned with a thick crown of a blondish brown curly hair crawling over the sand. He looked out over the ocean in awe. It was then that I realized that we were watching me as a child. I said, “Look how much I appreciated the seascape.” Even as I was a small child I felt the Spirit of the One at the seaside.

Suddenly, a black cloud sat up on its side and moved towards us. Another of the same came racing out over the horizon. Still another appeared. Now the skies began to move to the right as the clouds began to chase each other to form the pattern of a cyclone. The swirling sky became more tumultuous. My mother and I began to run to a church which was a little more than a hundred yards away. I stopped and said, “We could have run to safety in that state building closer to the beach.” We laughed, smiled at each other and continued toward the church.

As we entered the sanctuary we felt the safety of our surroundings. All grew quiet.
